Confessions of a Craft Supply Hoarder ✂️
We all have our guilty pleasures. Some collect shoes, some collect coffee mugs, and some… collect all the craft supplies known to humankind.
Here’s the thing about being a crafter: half the time, I’m crafting… and the other half, I’m collecting craft supplies like I’m preparing for the Craftpocalypse.
I like to tell myself I’m not hoarding — I’m curating. (That’s what makes it sound sophisticated, right?) But the truth is… well, let’s just say if you opened my drawers, bins, and mystery totes, you’d probably stage an intervention.
My Borders Know No Borders
You know those border stamps? I must be my own border control. My drawer is bountiful with all the stamps, it looks like I’m ready to launch an international scrapbooking checkpoint. Do I use them all? Of course not. But do I still grab a new one when it catches my eye? Certainly. It’s not about having a drawer full of them… it’s about having the possibility.
Ribbons, Ribbons, and More Ribbons 🎀
Satin ribbons. Grosgrain ribbons. Braided ribbons. Genuinely speaking, I could probably string together enough to wrap around the globe (or at least reach Japan). Forget Michaels this Christmas — I could make and decorate a tree with my stash alone. It started with retro ribbon dolls, then rolled into Temari balls… and now? I love keep collecting because the colors make me happy (someday I'll use it).
Paintbrush Paradise (Sort Of)
Every time paintbrushes go on sale, I grab a pack. Because why not? Will I ever use the flat, angled, fan-shaped brushes? One of these days, it's possible. But for now, I'll keep going back to my trusty round brush like it’s my soulmate
Paper Problems
Ah, paper. My weakness. If it’s on sale, it’s in my cart. And my logic? “I’m not sure if I have this shade of blue yet.” (Spoiler: I do. In triplicate.) But each sheet feels like possibility — a new idea, a project waiting to be produce.
At the end of the day, I could call it hoarding… but I prefer to think of it as holding onto inspiration. Because every ribbon, border stamp, or paintbrush has the potential to spark a new creation — someday.
And honestly? I wouldn’t have it any other way.
